ABOUT
MAIRIN is a collection of clothing from nature, for nature. The better we preserve the nature of their raw materials, the better clothing functions in nature. In essence, what naturally protects plants and animals from shifting seasons, changing weather patterns, and exposure to the elements will protect us too.
After a lifetime in the mountains and seven years helping other brands source regeneratively-grown raw materials, it dawned on me to make a collection of natural fiber clothing for the outdoors.
At its most basic, clothing protects us from the outside environment. With natural fibers, we can wear clothing that has naturally evolved to thrive in specific landscapes. In that sense, wearing natural fibers in nature is obvious- we get to wear nature’s symbiotic relationships.

TRACEABLE
All natural fibers reflect the soils they grew in. We source our raw materials from specific farms or regions so that we can truly understand the fiber’s natural benefits. Our partner farms strive to let nature do its thing– they increase biodiversity, support water, carbon, and mineral cycles, and promote symbiotic relationships.
LOW-INTERVENTION
Fabric and textile manufacturing often uses excessive mechanical and chemical processes, which reduces the fiber’s natural benefits. We only source from mills that use minimal processes to transform fibers into fabrics and avoid synthetic washes, finishes, and dyes.
MADE TO LAST
We design basic, functional clothing to be worn for the long run. We work with highly skilled craftspeople in the USA, India, and Peru who create durable and quality goods. But our clothing will not last forever, it is fully compostable and will return to nature on a natural timeline.
